Music Tracks: Student Overview
Welcome to Music Tracks, your personalized platform for managing your musical journey. As a student, you have access to your own information, focusing on three key areas: My Events, My Profile, and My Repertoire.
My Events
Applying for an Event
There are two ways to apply for an event, the first is on the My Events page:
Select the Apply for an Event button, which opens a popup that will allow you to filter events by semester and event type (Jury or Recital). Once you have found your event, select the pieces from your repertoire that you wish to perform. If there is a piece that is not yet in your repertoire, you are able to add it using the New Piece button which will show you all the pieces already in the database, or it will let you create your own. Once your event and event pieces have been selected, you will be required to set the duration of each piece you have selected as a final step before you submit your application. You have the flexibility to modify your application until it is approved by a faculty member, at which point it becomes locked.
Alternatively, if a professor sets up a link in LearningSuite for a specific event, you can access a dedicated application form directly from the link. The application process remains the same, but now the event is seamlessly integrated with LearningSuite, allowing for easy grade submission.
Furthermore, on the My Events page, you can conveniently view comments and scores provided by adjudicators in a summarized or graded format.
Viewing Event Scores
Once an event has been adjudicated and posted by a reviewing admin, the scores for the event will be accessible through the My Events page.
Select the event from the Events menu, and the page will populate the score data. You may select a juror from the Jurors menu to see scores and accompanying comments given from that juror, or you may select the Overall Summary button to review all jurors’ scores at once.
My Profile
Your My Profile page enables you to build your musical identity. Here, you can add/update your current instructors and select your major, current class, department, and instrument. There is also a field that allows you to share your musical history and teaching/service experience.
Please note that selecting your department and instrument is essential to being able to find the events you would like to apply for. Remember, you can request assistance from a Director to update your selection if needed.
My Repertoire
The My Repertoire page empowers you to curate your personal repertoire. You can add or remove pieces using the New Piece button, communicate with faculty members regarding each piece through the comment system, and explore tags associated with each piece. These tags help you identify which pieces fulfill specific requirements for events. Once a piece has been used for an event, it becomes a permanent part of your repertoire and cannot be removed.
Music Tracks is your comprehensive companion for managing your musical endeavors. Enjoy the seamless organization and customization it offers as you progress on your musical journey.
