Making an Account

Two Different Ways

There are two different ways to access YPoll:

  1. Signing in with your BYU account.
  2. Using a guest account.

*Support for creating a personal account, through a non-BYU email account, has been removed.

Sign in with BYU

If you are a BYU student, faculty, or staff, you can sign in to YPoll using your BYU netid and password (CAS login) and you can do this even if you've never interacted with YPoll before. When signing in, you may have to confirm your identity through DUO. DUO is BYU’s two-factor authentication service. Find out more about DUO by clicking here.

  1. Click on ‘Sign in with BYU’ and use your BYU netid and password to sign in.
  2. You may be asked to verify your identity with a DUO push.
  3. Once you are signed in, your account is automatically created. Welcome to YPoll!
  4. Choose ‘Remember this device’ to help speed up the process of signing in.

If you don't have a BYU account, you can click on "Don't have an account?" at the bottom of the sign in screen. This will take you through the steps of creating a BYU account, which you can use to sign in later.

Continue as a Guest

If you want to join a session quickly but don’t have a BYU account, you can use a guest account. Just click on the “Continue as a Guest” button and a temporary account will be created for you, from which you can join a poll or create one yourself. Warning: guest accounts are temporary and will be deleted later. Although you can do everything a BYU account can do, including creating your own question decks and sessions, generating join codes, and hosting polls with others, data from guest accounts will not be saved and will be deleted.
