About YTracker

What is YTracker?

YTracker is a free BYU web application used to adjudicate performances. Faculty users can create events for student users to join. Students can create a portfolio of pieces they know, then use those pieces to join the events. Faculty can enlist other faculty members to help adjudicate performances according to a rubric, inputting scores and making comments for the performer to view later.

The core mechanic of this web app is allowing users to join events and then make grading the performance at the event easier. YTracker can be adapted for activities following this pattern, including musical instrument performances, dance performances, and other artistic performances.

Was this named something else?

YTracker was originally Dance Track, before becoming PA Track. Finally, it's been redesigned and reworked into YTracker. What motivated this last change was the need to bring two platforms, Music Tracks and PA Track, together onto one platform. You can read about the ongoing migration efforts by clicking here.

Who develops YTracker?

YTracker is developed and maintained by BYU's Center for Teaching and Learning. Student developers build new features and address bugs and other issues as they arise.
